Hello everyone!

I just finished this amazing book! With everything that’s going on in the world, I thought this would be a perfect book to read and recommend. This book has 100 short chapters that covers areas of life, better ways to think and look at situations and ourselves. It’s right up my alley because it’s all about self-improvement, self development and even empowering others through our actions, speech and different ways to look at others as well. The main goal is being aware of the way we are thinking about situations and not letting our minds run wild with negative thoughts constantly. Looking at a situation from a different perspective instead of negativity and jumping to conclusions. As I have learned, our thoughts aren’t always true. We may think someone is treating us a certain way because they don’t like us, but, it could be the other person is just going through something in their personal life and it has nothing to do with us.

I especially enjoyed the little chapters such as Chp.- 26 Set Aside Quiet Time Everyday, Chp. 58- Relax, Chp. 71- Quiet the Mind. He offers ways of relaxing such as Yoga, meditation, spending time with ourselves and just simply being.

While reading I caught myself smiling, agreeing, nodding my head and even saying “Right!” outloud. Lol! I had a lot of light bulb moments going on and especially appreciated the author sharing his own personal experiences. The chapters are short, but, each one is choc full of powerful ways of handling different things in life. Its about letting go of things we can’t control and letting go of a lot petty things that would normally annoy or get the better of us. I plan to refer back to this book many times whenever I feel overwhelmed or just need a good ol pick me up. Highly recommend!

A Little about the Author:

Dr. Richard Carlson was an American author, Psychotherapist and a motivational speaker. “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff was a best seller (still is) and was on the best seller list for two years. Dr. Carlson went on to write 20 books including “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Men,” Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Women” and “Don’t Get Scrooged”.

Take a moment today and focus on yourself and what you think. Are you constantly putting yourself down? Thinking negative? There is a lot going on in the world and it can be difficult to stay positive but, we must stay determined, devoted, and most of being aware of our thoughts.

“Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way.”

Self Care

Self Care is also known as Loving yourself, Taking care of yourself, Making yourself a priority or putting yourself first etc. It can mean a lot of things to many different people. It’s also done in many different ways. For example, someone may turn to fitness and exercise, meditation and Yoga. Someone else may take a drive to the beach, relax and take in the beauty of the Ocean. Others may choose reading, gaming, or walking the dog.

I think we can all agree that life can be very hectic, and busy and for many its the norm and so they never think about Self Care. I would like to encourage everyone to take a moment and breath, slow down and just BE. Yes, I understand everyone has to make a living and have families to take care of, but take care of YOU. Take some time out of your schedule and take care of your health. Make that doctors appointment, make some alone time and start reading that book. It’s ok to leave the kids with the grandparents and have some “Honey time” with your spouse. It’s okay to take a drive alone while listen to your favorite jams. It’s ok to have that cheat dessert every once in a while your on that diet. ITS OKAY!

I’m not encouraging laziness, I’m not saying abandon your family, job or responsibilities. I’m simply encouraging everyone to take care of yourself, have fun, and enjoy life. Take time to notice the beauty within and the beauty that’s all around us. There is so much to see, to do and accomplish.

Making Changes

Hello friends and welcome back!

Today I would like to discuss New Years Resolutions or as some would call it making goals for this year. While this is something that is done every year, most people don’t stick with it. Some may say that life got in the way, they got discouraged and some just didn’t really care about it in the first place. This post is for those of you who are really serious about your goals or just making a change in your life. Maybe it’s your finances, losing those holiday pounds whatever it is, be mindful and be determined! Take your time and go at your own pace.

There will be some challenges along the way, but keep your focus and keep moving. Don’t fret over how long its taking, how hard it seems or what someone else is doing and how they’re doing it. This will only make you frustrated, frazzled and want to give up. Everyone has there own pace and way of accomplishing their goals.

Making great changes takes a lot of planning, determination, mindfulness and most of all patience. I would like to encourage everyone to leave behind procrastination, self doubt, whatever negative thought you might be telling yourself. Break free! Surround yourself with like minded positive people, make a vision board, start a journal, keep your goals on your mind every single day and make it happen!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

Welcome to MindfullCreations!  My name is Von. I’m new to blogging and very excited.  On this blog I will be writing about positivity, encouragement, and keeping our MIND FULL of our potential, positivity, optimism and hopefully to help inspire that creative fire in you that is just waiting to be released.

There will be quotes from myself and other inspirational individuals that we know or feel a connection to.   The reason I decided to start a blog is because I personally would like to offer a place for like minded people to come and get quick fix of inspiration, a good laugh or just something to think about and make a change within themselves.  If you look around there is always something negative being done or said to other human beings, animals, the planet etc.

Personally for me it’s very disheartening.  Most people are always fighting and getting upset over little things that will not matter within the next five minutes, next week or even next year.  I feel life is just too short.  We should wake up every morning with our minds set on our positive goals, helping or inspiring someone, even if its nothing but a smile, holding the door for someone or just simply a kind word.

This blog will also include Inspirational posts, book reviews, and some random thoughts.    I hope you will join me and have a happy, laidback, and relaxing journey with me.  Let’s make this New Year a banger!
